Shibazakura Park, also known as Hana no Juutan (Carpet of Flowers), is a breathtaking seasonal attraction located in Sanda City, Hyogo. First planted in 1984, over 100 million moss phlox flowers blanket the park’s hillsides in vibrant shades of pink, purple and white. This spectacular sight of the flowers completely covering the ground gives the park its name, “Hana no Juutan” which translates to “Carpet of Flowers.” The park is at its most spectacular from mid-April to early May when the flowers reach full bloom, offering visitors an unforgettable sight and a peaceful escape into nature.

Hana no Juutan is dedicated to the moss phlox flower. Spanning over a vast hillside, the garden showcases over 50 different varieties of moss phlox. Every spring, the park draws many visitors to witness the fleeting beauty of the flowers in full bloom. The vibrant display creates a stunning visual experience, making it a popular destination for photographers. It becomes busy from around 11:00 AM when tour buses begin to arrive. During the short blooming season, the garden is open daily. As a special treat, the park also sells moss phlox seedlings.

Inside the garden, Visitors can enjoy a cozy teahouse and a snack bar. For those looking to relax, there is also a picnic area. The entire park is wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the stunning views and vibrant flowers. Additionally, pets are welcome within the park.
